The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth, sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
American Legion Post 53 of Hemet, CA has a long history in the local community. Chartered in 1919 (the same year Congress granted the National Charter to the American Legion), the Legion met at Hemet Elementary School. The existing building was erected in 1947 and has been in continuous operation since construction.
